EndoFresh® disposable endoscopic emergency bedside clinical application released

2022-11-07

The Academic Conference on Gastroenterology of the Guangdong Medical Association was held online from November 4 to 6, 2022. The conference was hosted by the Guangdong Medical Association, co-organized by the Gastroenterology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, the Digestive Endoscopy Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and the Hepatology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and co-organized by Southern Medical University Nanfang Hospital.

On November 5, 2022, at the satellite meeting of the digestive branch venue, Professor Luo Xiaobei from Southern Medical University Nanfang Hospital, brought us "EndoFresh opens a new era of disposable endoscopy - clinical application of disposable endoscopy at the emergency bedside" to share the theme.

Nanfang Hospital has launched a clinical study on the use of EndoFresh® new disposable endoscopes at the emergency bedside: From November 2021 to January 2022, a total of 30 patients underwent emergency bedside intraoperative electronic gastroscopy, and the technical success rate was 100%. There were 1 patient with intraoperative localization, 7 patients with foreign bodies, 16 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, 3 patients with jejunal feeding tube placement, 1 patient with gastrostomy, 1 patient with postoperative gastrostomy - suspected esophageal fistula, and 1 patient suspected intestinal parasitic disease.

Case 1—Emergency foreign body removal surgery

Case 2 - bedside esophageal stent removal

The research results show that EndoFresh® disposable electronic gastroscope is safe and effective for emergency bedside intraoperative endoscopic diagnosis and treatment indications, and is comparable to reusable endoscopic endoscopic devices in terms of technical success rate, operability, device failure rate and safety. The mirror is quite similar.

Doctors nationwide have used EndoFresh® to perform nearly 600 endoscopic surgeries, with a diagnosis and treatment completion rate of 100% and an adverse event rate of 0%. A number of academic studies on EndoFresh® have been published in top domestic and foreign journals, and the disposable electronic gastrointestinal endoscope system technology has entered the national health technology promotion project library.
